Description
This is a combination farmbuilding, dated 1733, built for I and E Dougill. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of three or four bays, with quoins on the corners. On the east side, which faces the yard, there are two tall loading doors located under the eaves, along with bulbous-shaped kneelers and ashlar gable coping. The left side has a cart-shed that is accessed through a tall round arch with a wide pitching opening and a timber lintel above. The right side features quoined byre doors on each side, with the right door being blocked. Above the right door, there is a chamfered square window, and below the sill, there is a datestone marked with 'D'. Inside, the building retains wooden divisions and feeding racks in the byre, as well as queen-strut roof trusses from 1733. Scaffolding holes have been left as vents in the gable ends.
