Description

St Hilda’s Hospital, originally built in 1793 and subsequently altered, was constructed for use as a workhouse. The front elevation is two stories high and built of brick, featuring a symmetrical arrangement of six, three, three and six windows. The central windows are round-headed and the roof is brought forward to create quasi open pedimented gables. A central round-headed doorway is accentuated by an architrave. The roof is slate-covered and includes a bell cote.
