Description
The farm buildings located to the north-west of Cundall Lodge Farmhouse date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from red and brown brick with pantile roofs and form a courtyard layout.
The north-east range is attached to the service wing of the farmhouse and includes a three-storey dovecote, flanked by lower granary and possibly stable blocks. This range features board doors, stone steps leading to a first-floor entrance on the right, and small square windows with either small panes of glass or wooden ventilators.
The north-west range is a freestanding barn that has central double board doors and brick diamond-pattern vents. The south-west range consists of single-storey cartsheds and cowhouses, which are partly hidden by a 20th-century covering on the south side of the yard. Lastly, the south-east range includes single-storey outbuildings that have been converted into garages.
All buildings have dentilled eaves cornices, and while the interiors have not been inspected, this site represents a rare survival of a complete range of farm buildings associated with a farmhouse in this area.
