Description

The garden wall attached to the south front of Burton Hall Farmhouse dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble and pebbles, with a lining of red brick and ashlar coping. The front wall stands about 1 metre high and features a central gate, which ramps up to approximately 1.5 metres at each end. The side walls rise further, reaching about 2.5 metres high, and each is pierced by a gateway with a stone lintel, located close to the house. This wall is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
