Description
Rock House is a house from the 18th and 19th centuries, featuring rendered walls, stone dressings, and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with the gable end facing the street. The central entrance is set within a porch supported by Doric pilasters and includes a nine-panelled door topped by a glazed rectangular fanlight. On the ground floor, there are large windows to the left and right, each with a plain projecting surround and a dentilled hood on consoles. The upper floor windows have plain raised surrounds, and all windows have 20th-century casements. A string course runs just above the first floor sills, and the building has projecting quoins and a wooden cornice. At the rear, there is an 18th-century entrance with a plain surround and an open pediment supported by fluted consoles, featuring a six-panel door. To the right is an 18th-century window, while to the left is a late 19th-century window, and there are two 19th-century windows on the upper floor. The eaves are adorned with shaped modillions.
