The weir across the River Nidd at Castle Mill is a Grade II listed structure dating from the late 18th century, with later modifications. It is approximately forty metres wide and constructed from large gritstone blocks. The weir likely originated with the earliest buildings at Castle Mill, with alterations made in the early to mid 19th century when a new water wheel was installed.
