Description
Laurel House is a house and post office built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features ashlar stone with herringbone tooling and has an artificial stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has a plinth and a central six-panel door with a three-pane overlight, all set in a surround with straight tooling. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and are positioned below flat arches; the central first-floor window is blind and painted to match the others. There is a first-floor band and ashlar copings, along with brick stacks at each end. The design of Laurel House closely resembles that of its neighbour, Ashla, which also faces south.
