Description
Wood House is a house from the mid-18th century that has been re-faced in the 19th century and features a rear wing. The front is made of hammer-dressed limestone, while the rear is constructed from brick, topped with a pantile roof. The house has a three-cell baffle-entry plan with a parallel range at the back, all under an M-shaped roof. It stands two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The entrance features a 20th-century glazed door, and there are four-pane sash windows beneath chamfered stone lintels throughout the building. The eaves are sprocketed, and there are stacks at the right end and on the ridge. Inside, there are splat balusters and H-L hinges on many doors. The early origins of the house are indicated by the construction of the right gable end, its plan type, and various interior features.
