Description

This is a shop dating from the late 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is built of rendered walls with a concrete interlocking tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has one first-floor window, with a rear wing extending from the main structure.

On the ground floor, from left to right, is a six-panel door, followed by a 20th-century casement window recessed within a chamfered reveal. The first floor features a two-light casement window, also within a chamfered reveal. A brick stack is located at the right-hand end of the building.

The rear elevation of the wing showcases quoins. A single-light window on the ground floor retains its surround; the first floor has a partial surround and hood-mould for a three-light mullion window. A blocked two-light double-chamfered mullion window, also with a hood-mould, is visible in the gable. It is likely that this shop was originally part of a larger property that included numbers 21, 23, and 27 on High Street.
