Description

The boundary stone at Wareholes Well, dating from 1767, is made of gritstone and stands approximately 1.5 metres high with a rounded top. It has a square base and features an inscription on the west face that reads '6 K-F 1767'. This stone is one of those erected following a boundary survey conducted between September 3 and September 27, 1767, to mark the limits of the Forest of Knaresborough, which was under the ownership of the Duchy of Lancaster. The commission for this survey was dated July 15, 1767.
