Description
The Church of All Saints is a Grade II listed church located on Barlby Church Lane. It was built in the mid to late 18th century and features later additions and alterations, including a porch and vestry. The church is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with red brick dressings, topped with a roof made of pantiles and stone slates.
The west porch leads into a three-bay nave and a slightly recessed two-bay chancel, which has a north vestry that occupies part of the nave. The entrance to the porch features a six-panel door, and inside, there is a round-arched, six-panel double door with a red brick arch and ashlar imposts. The church has mainly leaded round-arched windows with ashlar sills and rubbed red brick arches on the nave and the south side of the chancel. There is a similar window at the east end, which contains 19th-century stained glass, along with pairs of smaller windows on the vestry and porch. The eaves are adorned with a dentil band, and the roof is constructed in two levels, with the lower course covered in stone slates. The roof also features ashlar coping and kneelers, along with an octagonal wooden bell turret that has ogee-headed openings, a dentil cornice, and a domed lead roof at the west end. Additionally, there is a further brick bell turret on the chancel.
Inside, the church has a chamfered round chancel arch, and the east window is framed by a 20th-century architrave with Ionic piers and a canopy. The interior is otherwise plain, with a panelled ceiling.
