Description
The Nelson Inn is an early 19th-century public house, with the top floor and canted bays added in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brown brick and features a pitched roof made of slate and pantile. The building has a coped gable supported by stone kneelers and an eaves cornice that includes an oversailing course and diagonally set bricks. There are decorative bands on the façade. The inn has five bays, one of which consists of blind panels, while the others have flush-framed sash windows. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays. The entrance door is made up of four moulded panels and is framed by a Tuscan surround with a blocking course above. At the rear, there is one sash window with glazing bars, and the rear wing is part of the original structure, featuring segment-headed Yorkshire casements with glazing bars. Additionally, there is a one-storey rear extension that includes a sash window with glazing bars.
