Description
The Old Wesleyan Chapel, now used as meeting rooms, was built in the early 19th century. It features ashlar dressings and coursed squared stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with quoins at the corners. The central entrance consists of a double six-panel door topped by a fanlight with radial glazing bars, all set within a plain stone surround that includes impost bands, a round-arched head, and a keystone. On either side of the entrance are round-arched sash windows with glazing bars, also in plain stone surrounds that have sills, impost bands, and keystones. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows in plain stone surrounds with sills and lintels. The chapel features shaped kneelers, stone coping, and an end stack to the left. Inside, there is a panelled gallery supported by thin cast-iron Doric columns.
