Description
This is a row of seven houses with shops, dating to 1786. The building is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a machine tile roof. It is two storeys high and has seven bays. The shopfronts are 20th century replacements. The right-hand bay contains a four-panel door with overlight, set within a flat brick arch. A central brick carriage arch, dated in the keystone and with stone impost details, allows access to the rear. The ground floor windows are not uniform; the first floor windows all have stone sills and flat brick arches, except in the three bays to the right, which break into the eaves cornice. The first floor windows consist of unequally-hung sashes in bays one to four, a casement window in bay five, a sash window in bay six, and a 16-pane sash in bay seven. A dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. Brick stacks are located at each end of the building and at three points along the ridge.
