Description

Rose Cottage Farmhouse and attached garden wall date from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-bay arrangement. A lower, one-bay wing projects to the right, and a screen wall of the same height is set to the left. A 20th-century half-glazed door is located in a plain stone surround with a cornice to the left of the right-hand bay. The windows are 2-pane sashes with stone sills and flat stucco arches. A moulded stone eaves band runs along the top of the building, and a fluted hopper head serves the central gutter. The farmhouse has stone coping to the roof, end stacks, and one stack rising from the ridge. The wing and screen wall feature double recessed blind semicircular arches. Attached to the farmhouse at right angles at each end is a stone-coped, ramped brick wall.
