Description
Number 6 is a house that dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. It is constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond, with brick and stone dressings, topped by a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and features five bays.
On the right of the left-hand bay, there is a six-panel door with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, all set within a wooden surround. The door features a panelled intrados, reeded Doric pilasters, a frieze with triglyphs and guttae, and a cornice. To the left of the right-hand bay, there is a quoined ashlar basket-headed carriage arch that contains double board doors.
Flanking the door are 16-pane sash windows, while the right-hand bay has a four-pane sash window. All windows are fitted with stone sills, and the ground floor windows have stuccoed flat arches. On the first floor, there are five 5-pane casements from the 20th century, which are in their original openings. The house features an eaves band, shaped stone kneelers, and stone coping on the right side. There are end stacks and one stack on the ridge.
