Description
This is a barn located approximately 100 metres south of Nutwith Cote, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is built from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn is a single storey with three bays. The central bay contains an arched waggon entrance with board doors, a keystone, voussoirs, and moulded imposts. On either side of the entrance, there are two giant Doric pilasters on plinths, with an additional pilaster at each end of the barn. The bays on either side of the central entrance have a board door with a lintel and a square opening above, which is framed by a projecting plain stone surround. The pilasters support an entablature consisting of an ashlar band, frieze, and a moulded stone cornice. The barn also features moulded kneelers and stone coping.
