Description
Nos 21 and 22 Church Square are an early 19th-century pair of cottages. They feature a symmetrical facade with five windows and a central carriageway. The buildings are two storeys high and have a slated roof with coped gables. The exterior is made of red brick with a coursed, squared grit stone rubble facade. The windows are recessed sash types, with shutters on the first floor. No 22 has a modern ground floor bow window. The carriageway has a segmental arch, with entrances located on the returns. These cottages are included for their group value, as they form a group with Nos 15 to 22 Church Square, the return of No 1 Church Square, and the parish church of Christ Church.
