Description
Harome Mill and the attached millhouse, along with a lamp post approximately eight metres south of the house, is a working watermill and house built in the late 18th century. The structure is made of limestone, sandstone, and granite rubble, topped with a pantile roof and featuring brick stacks. The building has a hearth-passage entry with an outshut at the rear, and the mill includes a cross wing at the back with an outshut that houses the waterwheel on the right gable end. The house is located to the left and the mill to the right, both standing two storeys tall.
The house has three first-floor windows, with a four-panel door on the right beneath a divided oblong fanlight, and two casement windows to the left. On the first floor, there is a central eight-pane sash window flanked by three-light Yorkshire sashes. The mill features a cart entry to the left and has irregular window placements, with all openings having wooden lintels. Both sections share a swept roof with gable coping on the right, and there is a left end stack and a central ridge stack. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century decorative wrought iron lamp post in the mill yard.
