Description

Mill Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with earlier origins and 20th-century alterations. It features a cruck frame, whitewashed limestone rubble, and a roof that combines thatch and pantiles, along with brick stacks. The layout consists of a three-room hearth-passage entry plan. The building has one storey with an attic and four windows. On the left side, there is a board door flanked by two three-light 20th-century Yorkshire sashes and a central fire window, all set beneath wooden lintels. To the right, there is another three-light 20th-century Yorkshire sash with a stone lintel. The roof is steeply pitched and includes end stacks and a central ridge stack, along with two 20th-century inserted dormers.
