Description
Greystones is a house, likely built in the mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations, including an extension to the left that is of no special interest. The structure is made of magnesian limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a cast-tile roof. It is originally T-shaped in plan with later infill and has two storeys and three bays. The building has quoins and the original entrance is located at the right gable end, featuring a 20th-century door within a renewed surround.
On the main facade, the ground floor has three-light mullion windows in the outer bays and a central single-light window, all framed by ashlar surrounds and fitted with 20th-century multi-paned casements. There is a first-floor band that continues around the gable ends. The first floor features outer bays with three-light thermal windows set within renewed ashlar surrounds and a round-arched central window, also with an ashlar surround, all equipped with 20th-century multi-paned casements. The roof is swept with ashlar coping and there is a stack at the rear. Additionally, there is a similar three-light rectangular and thermal window at the rear.
