Description

North Bridge over North Beck is a road bridge built in 1792 by John Carr of York. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a single segmental arch with an archivolt, flanked by pilaster buttresses. There is a band below the parapet, which has triangular coping that is raised and hipped over the buttresses. The long parapets terminate in circular bollards. The bridge has been widened downstream in a matching style, although this section does not include an archivolt.
