Description
The pump house, located to the south-west of Skutterskelfe Hall, dates from the early 20th century. It is constructed of brick, stone, timber frame, and pebbledash, topped with a felted roof. The building features a Japanese style and consists of one tall storey with four bays. A stone-coped brick plinth supports the pegged timber-framed structure, which has infill that is partly stone and partly pebbledash. There are four shuttered windows. The hipped, swept roof has deeply-overhanging eaves that rest on incised curved brackets, painted red to contrast with the black wall timbers. Additionally, there are two battered square ridge vents topped with deeply-swept pyramidal roofs and ball finials. Later additions at the rear are not of interest.
