Description
Sutton Post Office and Stores is a house that now serves as a Post Office and store, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with a herringbone-tooled finish and has a 20th-century interlocking tile roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, featuring quoins.
In the left-hand bays, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door set under a stone lintel that is shaped like a flat arch. On either side of the door, there are canted bay windows with a plinth; each bay window has a central 4-pane sash flanked by 2-pane sashes and is topped with a lead roof. To the right, there is a 20th-century bay shop window with a door and a Welsh slate roof.
On the first floor, there are three 4-pane sashes with flush wood architraves, projecting stone cills, and stone lintels, with the left window being tripartite. The building features shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, along with brick stacks at the ends and above the central window.
