Description

This is a row of four houses located at 11, 13, 15, and 17 Briggate, built in the early to mid-19th century. Nos 11 and 13 are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high with three bays. No 11 has a 20th-century door with an overlight, while No 13 has a 20th-century half-glazed door with a covered overlight. Both have wedge lintels. Each house has a large bow window to the left of the door; No 11's bow window is likely original, while No 13's is a 20th-century replacement. Above, there are 16-pane sash windows. On the far right, there is a round-arched opening in headers leading to a rear yard, which has a 20th-century studded door, with a sash window featuring glazing bars above it. The first-floor windows have wedge lintels and projecting sills.

Nos 15 and 17 are painted brick with a Westmorland slate roof, also two storeys high, but with two first-floor windows. They feature 20th-century doors and windows, and No 17 has a dormer window on the far right. The two houses on the right, Nos 15 and 17, are slightly stepped down. There are ridge stacks located between Nos 11 and 13 and between Nos 15 and 17.
