Description
No 19 on Briggate is a house that was originally two separate houses, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is built of red brick in Flemish bond and features a Westmorland slate roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. On the far right, there is a wide brick carriage arch. The entrance consists of paired 20th-century six-panel doors with rectangular divided overlights, set within a wooden doorcase that has a plain entablature and cornice. The windows on either side and on the first floor are 16-pane sashes with wedge lintels and projecting sills. There is a blind window above the doors. The house has paired gutter brackets and chimney stacks located on the ridge to the left and between the house and the archway. The eaves line steps down from the adjacent houses numbered 15 and 17.
