Description

The George and Dragon public house dates from the late 18th century. It is a two-storey building constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a Westmorland slate roof. The ground rises to window sill level on a rendered plinth. A central 20th-century entrance features a plain stone surround and cornice. Flanking the entrance are three-light sash windows with glazing bars, one on each floor. A wooden eaves band and gutter brackets are present. Brick stacks are located at each end of the building.
