Description
The gates, gate piers, and flanking walls to Rudding Park were likely built in the early 19th century for the Honourable William Gordon, with some 20th-century alterations. They are constructed from ashlar and wrought iron. The gates consist of two leaves featuring a geometric pattern of radiating bars. The gate piers stand approximately 4 metres high and have a projecting plinth and cap, which is topped with a large bull's head set in a coronet. The flanking walls are about 2 metres high and have heavy stone capping. The outer piers are capped with shallow pyramid tops.
