Description
This gateway, located approximately 500 metres south of Pepper Arden Hall, dates from the late 18th century and is made up of gate piers, gates, railings, and walls. The structure features two round gate piers constructed of ashlar, complete with plinths, stone bands, cornices, and shallow conical caps. The wrought-iron gates have spiked bars, and the railings on either side are similar, ramping down to the walls. The curved brick side walls are topped with ashlar coping and have cylindrical stone podia at each end, which are adorned with ball finials, although the one on the right is broken.
