Description

This is an 18th-century house, likely formed from two or more cottages, situated on The Bar. The building has undergone later alterations.

The exterior is constructed from uncoursed rubble stone, with brick stacks and a stone slate roof. The front, which faces east, is set back from the street and accessed via a gap between numbers 5 and 7. It has two storeys and a central door consisting of six fielded panels. This is flanked by windows with monolithic stone lintels. A single window is located on the upper floor towards the southern end, originally described as having a timber lintel. The roof has plain verges and end ridge stacks.

The rear elevation fronts Waterloo Street, which is lower in elevation, resulting in three storeys. The two upper floors have two windows each, both with stone lintels and sills. The lower ground floor features a doorway with a stone lintel to the south, alongside a small window to its right. A double doorway has been inserted to the left, and a single-bay, two-storey extension is present to the north, incorporating a doorway and a small window above.
