Description
Bale House, with an attached stable and barn, is a house that may date from 1668 but is probably from around 1700. It is constructed of dressed stone and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features five symmetrical bays. It has rusticated quoins, and the windows are of the cross type, with square mullions and moulded architraves. There are gable chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
To the right side of the house is a former stable that has a gabled roof and includes a dovecote. This stable has chamfered openings, which may have been reused. Attached to the stable is a 19th-century barn, which has a segmental cart entry and retains a reset datestone that appears to read "IIS 1668".
