Description

White Rails is a late 18th century building located on Boroughgate in Appleby in Westmorland. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar and features a moulded cornice and plinth. The right side of the building projects forward and includes one window on each storey both at the front and on the side, topped with a hipped roof. The main front section has four windows on the upper floor and three on the lower floor. There is a square-headed doorway with a rectangular fanlight above it. All openings in the building are hollow-chamfered.
