Description

The Tower on Hermitage Hill is a summerhouse built in the early 19th century and restored in the 1980s. It is constructed of rubble and covered with cement slurry, with an octagonal plan and two storeys. The building features a storey band and a corbel table below the parapet. On the south side, there is a corbelled turret that projects at parapet level. The joinery is made of late 20th century stained hardwood. The ground floor has three openings with plain reveals and pointed arches, which now contain glazed doors, while a fourth opening is blocked. The first floor has four windows with plain reveals and segmental heads. Below the turret, there is a narrow blind recess.
