Description
The Church of St Luke is a Church of England building constructed in 1663 and renovated in the late 19th century. It features slobbered rubble with some incised stucco, and an ashlar front was added to the south porch in 1889. The roof is made of graduated stone flags with stone copings and kneelers, topped with a ball finial on the east gable and a bellcote on the west. A wrought-iron weathercock, which bears the Musgrave arms and is dated 1830, is also present. The gabled porch has a graduated slate roof with stone copings and an apex cross, and there is a panel with the Musgrave arms above it, dated 1663. The original 17th-century south door features continuous moulding on the jambs and a semicircular head. There are two square-headed 2-light windows on each side wall, and a 3-light pointed window on the east, which are late 19th-century additions. A lean-to vestry on the north side dates from the late 18th century, and the interior fittings are from the late 19th century.
