Description
Newland Bottom Mill is a mill and attached house, with a datestone that reads "WILLIAM BURROW 1712," indicating its historical significance. The building features roughcast stone rubble, with some areas exposed, and slate roofs. The south elevation is two storeys high and has three bays, with a wider gable and a wing to the west. The house is three storeys tall and built into the side of a hill, with a three-storey wing to the north.
The south elevation includes small-paned casements, plank doors, and a loading door, while the wing has two casements and a cross-axial stack. On the west elevation, there are two gabled wings with a lean-to outshut to the north, along with additional plank doors and loading doors. The house has 20th-century casement windows, a small lean-to projection, and entrances to the basement and ground floor, as well as a gable-end stack. The west elevation of the north wing features segmental-headed window openings and an entrance, with a lean-to bay on the south return. The east elevation has two bays and is currently undergoing renovation as of 1988. Some machinery remains on the site.
