Description

The railway footbridge at Kirkby-in-Furness station is a structure from the mid to late 19th century, built for the Furness Railway. It is made of cast and wrought iron and is designed to be canted over the railway line, with landings and steps on each side. The steps feature ornate balusters and newels, while the landings are supported by Tuscan columns. Both the landings and the bridge are adorned with lattice-work parapets and topped with ball finials.
