Description

No. 50 Market Street is a shop that has been converted into a café and flat, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building features painted render and a slate roof, rising three storeys with a symmetrical two-window arrangement. The ground-floor shop front retains some original elements, including a timber fascia and cornice supported by painted limestone piers. On either side of the central doorway are bowed windows. The first-floor windows are sashed without glazing bars, featuring projecting sills and narrow painted timber surrounds. The second-floor windows are six-pane sashes.
