Description

Wiend House and adjoining store is a 17th-century house with later additions and alterations, located in Church Brough. The exterior is of slobbered rubble construction with quoins. The front roof over the main house and store is covered in Welsh slate, while the rear roof, including the outshut and the lower part of the house to the south, is stone-flagged. Stone end and mid chimneys are present. The south end of the house has the remains of blocked original mullioned windows in the front and end walls, and a sash window on each floor. The rest of the house features a central plank door and sash windows with glazing bars on each floor, all set within stone surrounds. Internally, the original roof line, which would have held thatch, is visible at the rear.
