Description
Carleton Hall Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century, is constructed from red sandstone ashlar and features a stone roof, rusticated quoins, a stone cornice, and stone chimneys. The building is two storeys high. The front has a modern door set in a blocked moulded opening that includes five keystones, an ovolo-moulded cornice, and a pediment. On the ground floor, there are two 3-light windows, while the upper floor has three 2-light windows, all featuring stone mullions and small casements with glazing bars, set within plain stone architraves. An extension has a plain front, and the right-hand gable end includes two casement windows above a stable. The rear, which faces the road, is much lower and has a segmental-headed scullery window along with a lean-to addition.
