Description
This is a terrace of workers' housing located on Keith Street, built around 1895. The houses are constructed of red brick and feature graduated slate and composition tile roofs. Each house is two storeys high, with a single window on each floor and paired doorways. The doors vary, some having plain overlights, and the ground-floor windows have projecting sills. There is a first-floor sill band with brick dentils and decorative lintels above the windows. The eaves have a corbel table, and some original cast-iron ogee guttering remains. The terrace has end stacks and party-wall ridge stacks.
At the rear, there are shared two-storey utility wings with end stacks. This terrace was built on a former Parade Ground and represents a later development of the mid-19th century planned housing to the southwest of Duke Street. Some houses have been altered and now feature replacement windows and doors.
