Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a house dated by a lintel to 1720. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. The north facade is two storeys high and has two bays. The windows feature recessed chamfered mullions, with single light fire windows in the first bay, while the window in the third bay of the first floor has a flat-cut mullion. The entrance has chamfered jambs and an embattled lintel, leading to a gabled porch topped with a ball finial and benches. Above the porch is a datestone that reads 1877. The house has a projecting gable-end stack and a corbelled gable-end stack with a rounded shaft. The east end includes a later gabled extension and a 20th-century conservatory. The rear features a projecting gabled bay with a three-light window, a stair light, and a single light on the first floor. To the right, there is an outshut under a catslide roof and a large projecting lateral stack with set-offs and a round shaft. Inside, there is a fireplace with a moulded opening, a corbelled lintel, and a cornice, along with a spice cupboard to the left that has a door with moulded framing.
