Description
Sickergill is a farmhouse with an adjoining barn, built in the mid-17th century, with a late 18th-century extension and 20th-century alterations. The structure features red sandstone rubble walls with raised quoins and a graduated green slate roof, topped with a stone ridge chimney stack. The extension is made of squared and coursed red sandstone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof and stone end chimney stacks.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with three bays, while the extension has two bays, and the barn is also two storeys with three bays. The original house is located in the center, with the barn to the left and the extension to the right. A 20th-century entrance is present, along with a two-light stone mullioned window to the right and above, and a smaller fire window to the right of a 19th-century opening that has a 20th-century replacement sash window. Similar 19th-century windows are located above to the right. There is another 19th-century entrance to the right, which features a 20th-century door. The extension has 20th-century double sash windows in the original openings.
The late 18th-century barn includes a large cart entrance, small square openings on the ground floor, and slit vents above. There is a further detached barn that is listed separately.
