Description
The Maypole, located to the south of The Cedars in Temple Sowerby, is possibly situated on the site of an earlier cross and is mentioned in the 1817 enclosure awards. It features four steps made of millstone grit blocks. The timber upright is a 20th-century replacement, and there is a wrought-iron weathervane dated 1891.
