Description

The entrance gate piers, gates, and railings to the Friary in Appleby in Westmorland date from the early 19th century. There are four square gate piers located by the roadside, which are rusticated and feature cornices and ball finials. On either side of the central pair of iron gates, there are curving low stone walls that are also topped with cast iron railings.
