Description

The Town Hall, built around 1840, was originally a Wesleyan Chapel and was converted for Town Hall use in 1934. The building is stuccoed and features a low-pitched roof behind parapets. It has two storeys with pilasters that extend the full height, a crude dentilled cornice, and acroteria. The entrance is marked by two Greek Doric fluted columns supporting a moulded entablature that includes guttae but lacks triglyphs or metopes. There are three round-headed windows that are recessed and have full glazing bars. The side facades rise to three storeys.
