Description

The Sun Inn is an early 19th-century building situated in an important corner position at the junction of Market Place with Kirkgate and St Helen's Street. It is constructed of painted stucco and stands three storeys high. The main entrance is a double panelled door set within a moulded stone surround. There are three sash windows on the ground floor, and four on each of the upper floors. These windows have vertical glazing bars and partially exposed stone window cases with moulded stone dressings. The listed buildings in Market Place form a group with those on Kirkgate Corner and St Helen's Street.
