Description
Whitrigg Hall is a farmhouse and adjoining barn dated 1708, marked with the initials JJF above the entrance. The building features painted roughcast over rubble, set on projecting plinth stones, and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof and yellow brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a long barn to the left that shares a common roof. The entrance has a plank door within a chamfered surround, which is covered by a 20th-century brick porch. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, framed in painted stone surrounds. The barn includes a plank door and a loft door above, with an extreme left segmental arch and a loft above that has a 20th-century doorway to the right. A kitchen extension to the right is not of interest.
