Description

Netherhall is a large country mansion located on Netherhall Road in Maryport. The building features a medieval pele tower on the south-east side, constructed mainly from Roman dressed stones. It includes mid and late Georgian additions and alterations, as well as extensive late 19th-century wings on the north-west side. The entrance is marked by a fine Roman Doric colonnade with nine columns and a moulded entablature. The late 19th-century wing has five gabled semi-dormers and mullion and transom windows across two storeys. As of the last survey in 1976, the house was standing derelict following a serious fire.
