Description

The gates and lamp bracket located to the east of the Church of St Cuthbert with St Mary date from around 1825. They are made of wrought iron and feature double gates with spear and scroll designs, supported by a scrolled frame beneath a scrolled overthrow, which now holds a 20th-century lamp. The Carlisle Journal from 1825 mentions the proposal for new railings. Additionally, the adjoining wall has been altered due to street widening.
