Description

The wellhead, located in the center of the village green, was built in 1897, likely to commemorate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. It is made of dressed red sandstone and features a semicircular retaining wall in front, which allows the wellhead to be sunken. The design includes a round-headed recess with a moulded surround, flanked by reeded pilasters, a block entablature, and a triangular pediment that is dated. The original pump has now been replaced by a tap.
